Our client is currently seeking for an Assistant Port Captain to support the marine and HSSE functions within the Company’s ship management team. Working alongside Port Captains, Executives, and Assistants, the role ensures fleet compliance with all marine safety, quality, environmental, health, and vetting standards as required by regulatory authorities, classification societies, insurers, vessel owners, charterers, and other stakeholders. Responsibilities include contributing to the development of marine and HSSE policies, liaising with flag and port states, classification bodies, and oil majors, conducting vessel visits and shipboard meetings, and monitoring navigational performance based on feedback from Masters. The role also involves maintaining up-to-date regulatory publications and assisting in onboard incident investigations and reporting.
Requirements:
- Recognized degree in Maritime Studies or relevant qualification
- Minimum 2 years of Shore Management Experience preferred
- Class 2 Deck Officer (Chief Officer) or equivalent
- Technical knowledge
- Proficient in MS Office
