Our client is looking for a highly motivated and experienced professional to join their team as a Global Fuel Procurement Manager / Senior Manager. This role is critical in leading and executing the global sourcing and procurement of marine fuels — both conventional and alternative — to support the fuel needs of our container shipping fleet, managing the long-term contracts, spot purchases, and supplier partnerships to ensure cost-effective and reliable fuel supply worldwide. The role will also be instrumental in shaping our decarbonization journey, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving cost-effective, secure, and sustainable fuel strategies.
You will bring deep knowledge of marine fuel markets, strong supplier networks, a solid understanding of container shipping operations, and a leadership mindset to manage a high-performing team. This role will also collaborate extensively across commercial, operations, digital, and sustainability teams globally.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.
- 8–15 years of relevant experience in marine fuel procurement, shipping, or energy trading.
- Proven expertise in the global marine fuel supply chain, including pricing, contracts, risk, and supplier management.
- Strong understanding of shipping operations, especially in container shipping.
- Demonstrated experience in people leadership and cross-functional collaboration.
- Familiarity with decarbonization regulations and alternative marine fuels.
- Proficiency in procurement tools and systems; knowledge of platforms like, Platts, or internal tools (e.g., Flamingo, Larissa) is advantageous.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
