This leading organisation is looking for a Senior Executive / Assistant Manager, Fleet Management to join their Global team in Singapore. In this role your primary responsibilities will include:
- Act as the main focal point for the new building vessel delivery preparations (e.g. the coordination with the ship manager, shipyards, internal departments, etc., schedule management, assisting the Financial Settlement team for the invoice settlement, ceremony arrangements, etc.)
- Engage in vessel acquisition and disposal projects (including identifying suitable vessels for purchase or construction, negotiating purchase agreements, arranging financing, and managing the sale or scrapping of vessels at the end of their operational life)
- Manage the financial aspects of the vessel ownership and operation, including instructing the ship manager for the budget preparation, review the submitted budget and report the budget to the corporate, closely monitor the actual result of each vessel, make analysis of the Budget vs Actual, etc.
- Engage both internal and external stakeholders effectively to establish standard procedure of the entire ship owning activity, prepare and maintain the standardized template/format, check-list, documents, instruction, etc..
- Take appropriate and actions promptly when incidents occur by coordinating and discussing with internal/external stakeholders to solve the issues, prepare the countermeasures, recovery actions, etc.
- Support other initiatives/projects or other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Business or Maritime Studies or relevant discipline
- At least 1 - 3 years of experience in ship owning operations
- Meticulous, responsible, organized, diligent, go-getter, big team player and a fast learner
- Knowledge of the charter parties, ship-management contract and other relevant contracts will be beneficial
- Excellent written and spoken English, creative problem-solving and outstanding communication/negotiation skills
- Possess analytical and risk-management mindset and able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Experience/knowledge in maritime law and/or accounting and/or vessel operations is highly preferred
- Proficient in MS or G-Suite
