Job Description

We have partnered with a Port in the North East of England to recruit a Relief Pilot.

For many, bringing ships in and out of port is the best bit.

Combining ship handling with a shore based lifestyle, Piloting can be an attractive shore based option.

As a Relief Pilot, you will be required on an Ad-Hoc basis and paid per ship movement.

It will most likely suit someone who is an experienced self employed Pilot who has some capacity to do some extra, or a retired experienced Pilot who wants to keep their hand in, or a Deck Officer who is looking to begin some Pilot training.

You'll need to have excellent ship handling and manoeuvring skills with 40-90m vessels.

Please be able to answer this question; Do you have experience bringing ships in and out of port, with only a standard balanced propeller and rudder, and only, or at times no, bow thruster?

The Ad-Hoc nature of this role means that applicants should be based in the North East of England, or Scottish borders.

The current right to live and work in the UK is essential.
