Job Description
We have partnered with a Marine Services Company to deliver the search for an R&D and Innovation Project Engineer.

The company have secured funding for and are leading several carbon reduction projects, which are being run in collaboration with owners, ship yards, class, consultancies, ports and manufacturers.

The R&D and Innovation Project Engineer's role is to lead and co-ordinate the projects and liaise with all parties to keep them on track.

A well organised communicator would suit this opportunity, it requires a technical understanding but it is not necessary to get into the detail of the designs. This is more about leading the project than delivering engineering.

The focus is to find someone with the right personal characteristics.

It is likely that you will have a degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering, and have at least two years experience.

You will need to have a confident communication style, it shouldn't phase you to chair a meeting with all of the stakeholders, and be comfortable capturing and tracking actions.

Beyond the R&D phase of these grants, you will take on marine engineering projects such as propulsion upgrades, refits and dry-dock planning, and newbuild management.

As part of a wider group, the company will design a long-term career development plan, intended to build your management and leadership experience, to allow you to build your responsibility within the organisation.

Applicants must have the existing right to live and work in the UK.
