Job Description

An established shipping company is seeking for an experienced professional with Naval Architecture background to join their team in Singapore as a Hull Superintendent.

You will be part of the Dry-Docking team, with the following main responsibilities:

  • Plan, execute and evaluate vessel voyage surveys and CAP Surveys
  • Complete inspection reports, repair specifications and repair plans
  • Attend to all hull structural related issues raised from ships and render technical advisory & support to ships
  • Attend to vessel dry-docking and supervise dry-dock activities such as structural repairs, coating upgrades, mechanical work and service attendance coordination
  • Prepare reports and updates as per Company’s requirements
  • Plan and monitor voyage/riding repairs while vessels are in service to minimize vessels yard stay
  • Participate in other adhoc projects (e.g. New Buildings) as directed by the line manager
  • Liaise with Class to evaluate the steel renewal required

This position will require you to travel often to shipyards, ships and at time sailing on-board with the vessels.

To be suitable for the role, you should be someone who can work independently, with good communication and interpersonal skills. You must enjoy working in a team, taking constant challenges in solving structural problems and providing creative solutions.

You must have Diploma in Naval Architecture / Ship Construction from a recognised institute, with around 4 years of working experience at Shipyard and is familiar with structural and coating / drafting, QHSSE, etc.

This role is currently opened to candidates based in Singapore with ready working entitlement.
